Calista's Hair

A friend came over to our house yesterday and as we sat talking, she commented on how thick Calista's hair was. I told her that it's probably so thick because it took 3 years to come in. Calista was sitting there listening to us, and she says, "My hair is like toilet paper!" We both paused for a minute trying to find the correlation, and finally I had to ask WHY her hair was like toilet paper. Calista says, "I read the back of it and it said 'Soft and Thick!'" Then she goes in the bathroom and brings out one of our unopened packages, and sure enough it says "White Cloud, Soft and Thick" on it! We had a good laugh over that one. I've read that toilet paper wrapper many times, but I've never thought about it relating to anything else.

So what is your hair like?

Oranges

I bought a box of oranges a week ago and everyone has loved them. Aaron showed Samuel the neat trick of how to peal an orange in one piece. Samuel was pretty proud of both his and Aaron's so he took a picture of them. I don't have the patience to try.

Sarah's new hat!

Sarah really loves to put "hats" on now. She's not even picky about the hats she uses: real hats, bowls, clothes, and anything else she can find. Her favorite place to find these hats happens to be Ellen's underwear drawer. She is so proud of herself when she comes walking down the hallway to show everyone her new "hat." If she can, she'll pull them all the way down to go around her neck, and she gets so mad when you take them off. At least she's finding the clean ones!

Blue and Gold Banquet

We had our cub scout Blue and Gold Banquet a few weeks ago and they wanted to boys to decorate cakes for our dessert. I baked the cake and cut out the ears. Samuel did the rest. We looked at a picture for a guide and I think he did a great job!!

Since Samuel is a Bear this year, he made a cub scout bear cake!!

Our "Davids and Goliath" videos

We have loved watching David and Goliath off of liken.tv, so one Sunday Samuel decided to build his own stage to act out the story. Of course it was a hit with everyone else, and they all wanted their turn too!
