We found a rental!!

Yesterday we got a phone call around 5pm telling us that our application for a rental was accepted!! That means we actually have a place to move to this weekend! We are so excited to have a place, you wouldn't believe how hard it was to find a rental in Pendleton. The rent is a little more than we would like, but it is in a neighborhood where I'm not scared to walk out my front door, and its a 3 bed house not an apartment. It is also just a block and a half from the elementary school and another long block to a nice park. I don't have any pictures now, but I'll get some when we move in. I think we're planning on taking loads down on Saturday and spending next week cleaning out this house.

Jacque can read!!

The other day, Jacque came up to me on the couch with the "Green Eggs and Ham" book. She said, "Mom I can read this. Do you want to hear me?" I said "Sure," thinking that I would have to help her a lot. But I was very impressed. Out of the 62 pages, I only had to tell her the words, "could, anywhere, and try!" And I only had to say them a few times before she could recognize them as they came up. She did such a great job! It is so fun to have readers in the house.

Ellen turned 2!

Ellen turned 2 on February 14, 2010! She is our little valentine!

I was going to post about this earlier, but then I noticed I hadn't done Calista's birthday yet, and I needed to give Calista a time to shine, so I waited until now!

We actually had to wait until the 15th to open presents because she fell asleep Sunday night before we could open them. I was debating waiting until Aaron's lunch to open presents, but as soon as we woke up, she came running down the hallway saying, "My presents!! My presents!!" So that kind of decided everything.

I was surprised to see how excited she was, and I'm not sure what her favorite present was. She loves her bath toys and phone for sure, but she was excited about the clothes too! It was fun to see her open the presents because as soon as she opened one, she grabbed it and gave it to one of her siblings to hold while she opened the next. Of course, when the presents were all gone, she wanted her gifts right back, but I thought it was cute that she let them hold them for a little bit.

I liked this picture. It shows all of her hair she's grown in 2 whole years! If you look closely you can tell its kind of curly. I'm thinking that it must take longer to grow curly hair than straight hair.
