Halloween 2012



Red Ribbon Week = Wacky day

For Red Ribbon Week our elementary school lets the kids dress up!  Today was Wacky Day = hair, socks, clothes.  We don't have much in the way of wacky socks and clothes, but we had lots of fun with our hair.  Ellen even wanted to join in!

                                



Heidi 1 week old

Grandma Baxter came and stayed with us for a whole week and spoiled us all!  We loved having her around and she helped us so much.  She even got put to work making applesauce with our new food strainer!  She and the kids made over 50 quarts of applesauce!  We took a break from apples after that because we decided Grandma needed to have some cuddle time with the grandkids or else she might not ever come back!! 

Heidi is 1 week old and weighs 7 lbs 10 oz.  She's eating all the time and sleeping pretty well.  Here are some fun pictures that Grandma took while she was here.

 

  

 

 

 



Our amazing cousin

We have a very talented cousin, Kalli Bingham.  She is almost 11 years old, but she made this cute blanket for Heidi.  Samuel said, "This doesn't look like something a girl would make.  It looks like a professional made it!"  Kalli did a great job and it is such a soft blanket!  I'm glad I get to cuddle under it with Heidi!  Here are some cute pictures of Heidi's siblings cuddling with her and the blanket!

And if the blanket wasn't enough, she made really soft pillowcases for each of the kids!!  Each of the pillowcases are a little different so they have their very own special pillowcase.  They were so excited to get their package in the mail!!  Thank you Kalli!  You are amazing!  Keep sewing!

 

 

 

 

 

 



More on Heidi

I forgot to add some details.  Heidi was born 11 days early and was 7 lbs 6 oz, which makes her my smallest baby.  I think that it is a blessing she came early since she was breech - feet first.  I wouldn't have wanted her to be any bigger.  Although her head size was the same as all the rest - 14 inches.  She was 20 1/2 inches long which is about the same as her siblings.

Heidi Sue Kerns

This sweet little girl was born feet first on Saturday, October 6, 2012 @ 6:28pm at home.  Labor started Friday night around 9:00pm.  It was a hard long labor but both Heidi and I are doing well.  We are very grateful to Heavenly Father the many blessings we received during this birth.  We are so glad that everything went well here at home and are grateful to our midwife Janet Alanko too.  Looking back it was a happy experience!!!
